About

I’m Sara Walker and I’m a Tar Heel.  But really.  I’m a 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Journalism and minor in Southern Studies.  Quickly after graduation, two friends and I set off on a seven-week adventure through Europe–one that included backpacks, hostels, farming in Italy, hiking in Switzerland and running with the bulls in Spain.  You can see my Europe blog posts here or on my Chapelboro.com column Adventures of a Carolina Graduate.

Last summer, I had the amazing opportunity to be an editorial intern at CBS College Sports Interactive in San Diego, Calif. and then finish the summer with a one-week stint on ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption.  Throughout college I received the opportunity of a lifetime–working for UNC’s Sports Information.  More about those opportunities here.  I thought after college and traveling, my wanderlust would be fulfilled…well apparently I was not done yet.  I am currently in Park City, Utah living the life of a Deer Valley Skier Services Representative.  Not sure what that life entails?  Well lets just say lots of snow and skiing.

When I finally grow up, I hope that I become a professional fan, a barbecue connoisseur and will have somehow developed musical talent.  For now (and because I’m not sure those jobs actually exist), I’m set on working in sports marketing for a professional sports entity.

This site is set to chronicle a well-lived life.  My life is based around three fundamentals that I learned at a young age: UNC basketball, southern food and southern music. I believe the key to this life is to share it with friends and family, and that is what I hope to accomplish here.
